On Thursday, June 12, 2014, between 4:30 and 5 p.m., fire crews were called to the area of Cody Loop Rd. and Paseo Encino, Oracle, for a wildfire that was burning.
Oracle Fire Department as well as crews from several other departments and the United States Forest Service responded to the area and began battling the blaze.
At least two homes were completely destroyed and there were reports that at least seven other residences in the area were evacuated.
San Manuel Miner reporter John Hernandez was at the scene and reported seeing residents wetting down the area near their homes with garden hoses.
