Michael San Miguel

Michael San Miguel, age 46, passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 17, 2018.

The man. The myth. The legend. Michael San Miguel, aka “Cyco Miko” was born April 13, 1972 in Miami, Arizona. In his early years Michael could be found riding his motorcycle around the town of Superior. He was given the nick name “Cyco Miko” for his outrageous behavior and acts. Cyco Miko was once famous in the neighborhood for a jump on his four wheeler at the Little League field.

Shortly after graduating from Superior High School, Class of 1991, Michael went on to work in various industries. He eventually followed in his grandfathers’ and father’s footsteps in mining. Michael worked throughout Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska until ultimately settling down in the Town of Morenci, where he worked as a haul pack driver at the open pit mine.

Michael enjoyed sharing stories of his past with energy, exaggeration, and a sense of humor that only he possessed. Michael loved his mom’s home cooking, listening to oldies on Sunday, taking his Nana to the casino, and visiting with family and friends. He was known for his generous heart, beautiful green eyes, infectious laugh, entertaining stories, and being the biggest momma boy! Michael took enormous pride in his home Town of Superior and supported the town and people in anyway he could.

He is survived by his son, Michael Anthony, mother Stella, father Elias, brothers Elias Jr. and Manuel, Nana Maggie, Nana Dina, and nieces Adi, Leanna, Samantha, and Penelope. Michael is preceded in death by his Tata Andy and Tata Manuel (Curly) Haro.

Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Church (490 Main St. Superior, AZ 85173); afterwards Michael will be laid to rest with his Tata Andy (Cowboy) Jimenez at the Fairview Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be held at Los Hermanos (835 W. US Hwy 60, Superior, AZ 85173).
