Local schools preparing to head back for new year

Guess what, kids? Your parents are super-excited that you are heading back to school!

But before you can board that bus and set off the most joyous jig your moms and dads will ever dance, there is some information that they need.

Yes. Back to School Information!

Hayden-Winkelman Schools

School starts Monday, Aug. 10.

New students must register by appointment: please call the office at 520-356-7876 (K-8 ext. 2202) (9-12 ext 1300). You will need birth certificate, immunizations, proof of residency, and transcript to register.

Returning Students: ALL K-12 Students will register Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30 from 1-6 p.m. at the district lobby. Please bring proof of residency.

Fees: 9-12th grade registration fee is $20; Grades 6-12, $3 fee per Fall season sport; Grades 6-12, $3 fee per Extra-Curricular Club such as student council, athletic club, NHS, class club, etc.

Dress Code: Remember the School Dress Code when purchasing your child’s school clothes. Please refer to student handbook. Any questions call 520-356-7876 ext. 1300 or 2202.

Athletes: Physical forms are available in the district office and K-8 office. ALL physicals and paperwork must be turned in to Mrs. Lydia Martinez BEFORE you can participate in practice. Any questions call 520-356-7876 ext. 1306.

Preschool: Preschool CHILDFIND (round-up) will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11. in Preschool room #305 from 8:30-11:30 and 12:30-3:30.

MANDATORY Preschool Parent Orientation will be held Thursday, Aug.13, at 8:30 a.m. in Preschool room #305. FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL IS MONDAY, AUG. 17, 2015.

Ray Junior-Senior High School

School starts Wednesday, Aug. 5 The first bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Classes begin at 7:49 a.m.

New students must register by appointment: please call the HS Guidance Office at 363-5513 (ext. 304) or the JH Guidance Office: 363-5513 (ext. 302). Leave a message with your name and phone number.

Returning Students – Register at the following times: Jr. High seventh and eighth: Tuesday, July 28, 9 a.m. to noon; High School Juniors/Seniors: Wed., July 29, 9 a.m. to noon and Freshmen/Sophs: Thurs., July 30, 9 a.m. to noon

Fees: Jr. High Activity Fee $5; Sr. High Activity Fee $10/Band $35 (*ALL fees, fines, textbook/library books returns/fines to be paid at registration)

Dress Code: Remember the School Dress Code when purchasing your child’s school clothes.

Closed Campus Plan will be in effect the first day of school. Permission slips are available in the office for (11th and 12th grade) students eligible to leave campus for lunchtime.

RJHS/RHS Bookstore opens Wednesday, Aug. 5. Check out the school supplies.

Attention RJHS/RHS Athletes: Remember to get your physicals/athletic agreement/insurance info/concussion certificate turned in at the AD or HS Office ASAP. ALL physicals and paperwork must be turned in to the Athletic Director BEFORE you can participate in practice. Physical Forms/Athletic Agreements can be picked up at the HS Office. Concussion training: www.aiaonline.org – go to AIA Academy – go to Brainbook (read, test, print and sign certificate for the AD).
