Ignacio “Nacho” Valencia, 71, passed away June 13, 2016.
Ignacio was born Dec. 9, 1944 in Oputo, Mexico to Maria and Refugio Valencia. He was the youngest of six. Ignacio graduated from San Manuel High School and enlisted in the US Army. Being a Vietnam veteran, he was active with the VFW as well as being a Lion’s Club member for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, watching the Arizona Diamondbacks on TV as well as any University of Arizona sports team. Ignacio was a very caring kind hearted and easy going person, with many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his two brothers Luis and Raul, and his sister Josephine.
He is survived by his sisters, Jesusita (Victor) Borboa and Gloria (Ines) Lopez; daughter, Christina (Brian) Bywater; sons, Joseph (Aneissa) Valencia and Ralph Valencia; grandsons, Conner, Gavin, Ralphie, Jonathon and Tristan; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Ignacio were held Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth. Interment was at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
