The community cares about Matthew York.
And on Saturday, April 16, friends, family and classmates all turned up in front of the Pinal County Courthouse in Kearny to show him just how much they care.
The March for Matthew was part of an overall fundraising campaign for the young boy, and included either a two or five mile walk around the town of Kearny. Supporters also sold Kooshies, bracelets and Scratch ’N Give tickets all to raise money for the family. All proceeds went to Matthew’s family.
Matthew, who is 8, was recently diagnosed with two forms of leukemia. He is currently undergoing treatment at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the young man and his family.
