Betty Jean Marsee

, 73, passed away on June 27, 2014 in Tucson, Ariz. Betty was born on April 26, 1941 in Eros, LA. Betty was the second child of six children born to Dueco Dick and Ida Mae Smithwick. She lived in Louisiana until 1954 when the family moved to Leadville, Colo. In August of 1956 the family moved to San Manuel, Ariz. Betty attended San Manuel High School where she graduated in 1960. She married Rollie Olson in 1959 in San Manuel, Ariz. and was divorced in 1973. She married Dave Marsee in Arkansas in 1984 and was divorced in 1988. She spent a brief time in Leadville, Colo. with her sister, Shirley, and then returned to Tucson in 1989. 

She loved music even as a child and begin singing specials in church with her sister, Shirley, in the Baptist Church in Dunn, Louisiana. She participated in chorus all four years of high school. She loved singing specials in church and was part of many church choirs. Where ever she lived she found a church to attend.  She attended First Baptist Church of Leadville, the Baptist Church in San Manuel, Casas Adobes in Tucson, Baptist Church in Oracle and was a member of Oracle Union Church at the time of her death.

She loved and enjoyed being a member of the Fast Fitness of Oracle. She enjoyed being with her friends in the early morning sessions. She was employed by Food Giant for many years. She also spent many years as a caregiver for others in their home. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Gayle Dean Dick and her brother, Paul Nathan Dick. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Ann Crawford of Leadville, Colo., her brothers, Roy Lee and David Clifton Dick of Heber Springs, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews.
