Basketball season enters second half as holiday break ends

Now that the holiday break has ended for local area schools, the basketball season kick into high gear as sectional play and the race for the playoffs begin. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams at all of the schools in the Copper Corridor area return to the court this week. Here’s a look at the upcoming schedule for each team:

SUPERIOR

Panthers:Jan. 12 vs. Ray and Jan. 13 at Duncan. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Lady Panthers:Jan. 8 vs. Gilbert Classical Academy, Jan. 12 vs. Ray, and Jan. 13 at Duncan. All games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

RAY

Bearcats:Jan. 8 vs. Arete Prep, Jan. 12 at Superior, and Jan. 13 vs. San Manuel. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Lady Bearcats:Jan. 8 vs. Arete Prep, Jan. 12 at Superior, and Jan. 13 vs. San Manuel. All games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

HAYDEN

Lobos:Jan. 8 vs. San Tan Foothills. Game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Lady Lobos:Jan. 8 vs. San Tan Foothills and Jan. 12 at Gilbert Classical Academy. All games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

SAN MANUEL

Miners:Jan. 6 at San Tan Foothills, Jan. 8 vs. Miami, and Jan. 13 at Ray. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Lady Miners:Jan. 6 at San Tan Foothills, Jan. 8 vs. Miami, and Jan. 13 at Ray. All games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
