Anita Martinez “Jeja,”born Aug. 23, 1941 in Winkelman, AZ, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Aug. 6, 2015.
She is survived by her children, Robert and Christina Castaneda of Hayden and Gilbert (Monica) Castaneda of Oracle; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret Ruiz, Ramona Villegas, Mary Helen Lopez and Lydia Gutierrez; and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband,Javier Martinez; parents, Rita and Francisco Ruiz; brothers, Francisco, Chayo, Johnny and Alfred Ruiz; and sister,Clara Marquez.
Anita resided in the Hayden area most of her life where she truly treasured her time with all of her family. She was known as a nurturing, loving and generous person. She was loyal, gentle and had a free spirit. She lived for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and caring for her plants and her birds.
Her beautiful spirit will always remain in our minds and in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Services in Hayden, AZ on Saturday, Aug.22, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. and mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Hayden.
