A single vehicle accident in Oracle last Friday sent a female driver to the hospital in Tucson.
The vehicle went off American Ave. just before the Linda Vista turn off. It went into a ditch and struck a large boulder head on.
A nearby resident heard the collision and notified emergency personnel before going to the scene and assisting the injured driver. An off-duty firefighter stopped and rendered First Aid until the ambulance and other first responders arrived.
The driver was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center in Tucson.
