The San Manuel Lady Miners volleyball team dug in at San Tan and San Carlos. San Manuel took a tough loss at San Tan and picked up a win over San Carlos.
On Oct. 22, the Lady Miners traveled to San Tan for a tough section match with the San Manuel taking the 2-3 loss.
In the first set the ladies fell 22-25, in the second set San Manuel won 25-22 and also won the third set 25-14. The Lady Miners lost 23-25 in the fourth set and in the final set San Manuel battled but still lost 13-15.
Offensively for the Lady Miners, Brittany Allison had four kills, two aces, and two digs; Theresa Sweeney had four kills and two blocks; Angelica Zuniga had 16 kills, five blocks, and one dig; Mireya Tamayo had one ace and 16 digs; Kadi Monfred had one kills, two digs, and two assists; Analisa Robles had 13 kills, and five blocks; Lyana Waddell had five aces, and four digs; Daniel Guerrero had one kill, six digs, and one assist; and Felicia Gomez had two kills, three aces, one block, 13 digs, and 23 assists.
On Oct. 24, the Lady Miners hosted the Lady Braves from San Carlos, picking up the 3-0 win in three straight sets.
San Manuel won 25-23 in the first match, 25-16 in the second match, and 25-13 in the third and final match for the win.
Offensively for the Lady Miners, Brittany Allison had three kills, and seven digs; Angelica Zuniga had nine kills, three blocks, and one dig; Mireya Tamayo had one kill, one block, 14 digs, and one assist; Kadi Monfred had three kills, three aces, three digs, and one assist; Analisa Robles had 11 kills, one ace, one block, and two digs; Lyana Waddell had nine digs; Ana Zuniga had six digs, and one assist; Daniel Guerrero had one kill, six digs, and one assist; and Felicia Gomez had two kills, three aces, two digs, and 22 assists.
With the loss and the win, the Lady Miners now post a record of 9-7 overall with a 5-5 region record.
