Danny C. Ramirez

Danny C. Ramirez, 75, of Kearny, AZ was surrounded by his family when he passed away in his home on Aug. 26, 2016.

He was born on May 1, 1941 to Carmen and Gustavo Ramirez in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Danny was the fourth of six sons. He joined the US army at the age of 17 and served for four years as a paratrooper in the 101st airborne division “Screaming Eagles.” Danny was honorably discharged in 1963 when he returned home to Arizona and was reacquainted with “Alice” Maria Eliza Avelar; they married on Aug. 26, 1964.

Danny started his mining career with Kennecott and continued until his retirement from ASARCO in 1999.

Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was happiest when he was out in the mountains camping and hunting with his family and friends. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears but his greatest enjoyment came from watching his grandchildren grow up and play sports as Ray Bearcats. Danny followed his grandchildren as much as he possibly could as he believed in them more than they could possible imagine.

Danny is survived by his wife, Alice Ramirez; daughter, Deborah Harmon; son, Troy (Angela) Ramirez; grandsons, Daniel, Seth, Nicholas and Sean Harmon; granddaughter, Felicity Ramirez; and great-granddaughter, Hunter Saige Harmon; brothers, Tony (Nilza), Albert (Toni), Enrique and Gustavo Ramirez; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gustavo and Carmen Ramirez; brother, Joaquin Ramirez; son, Daniel Jeffery Ramirez; granddaughter, Adrianna Rochelle Ramirez; and son-in-law, Ronald S. Harmon.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny, Arizona. Viewing will be 8:30-9:30 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Luncheon will follow at the William Taft Parish hall.
