The Knights of Columbus presented Joyce McClung and the Tri-Community food bank a check for more than $300, along with nearly 300 pounds of food donations, last Tuesday in Mammoth.
“The Knights would like to thank the parishioners of St. Helen, St. Bartholomew and Blessed Sacrament Catholic churches for their tremendous generosity,” said Grand Knight Jerry Bribiescas.
The three parishes have donated over a half a ton of food, with help from St. Helen’s youth.
The Knights of Columbus sponsor a nation wide program called “Food for Families” according to Past Grand Knight Johnnie Seballos.
“The Supreme Knights of Columbus office recognizes local Councils’ food donations and reimburses us based on the tonnage we contribute. We decided to donate our reimbursement from last year’s efforts to the food bank,” Seballos said.
