You’ll see two-out-of-three ‘Gifts of the Magi’ Dec. 15 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum on the once-a-month walking tour of Plants Of The Bible guided and interpreted by Mesa resident and Bible scholar Dave Oberpriller.
Pomegranates, figs, pines, palms and other Holy Land plants that are referenced in scripture thrive in Arizona’s desert climate and you can see living examples in the gardens on this guided tour Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
It’s a relaxing and slow-paced 90-minute walk outdoors and along smooth, flat and wheelchair-accessible trails. The tour repeats on the first Sunday and also the third Saturday of each month.
Queen Valley resident Leda Fide is the special guest tour guide for the Sunday walk Jan. 6. Tours are included with Arboretum daily admission of $9 for adults; $4.50 ages 5-12.
