The Tri-Community Food Bank provided 240 holiday food boxes for Thanksgiving this year. It was a record turnout.
Thirty-six applicants had to be turned away initially as the Food Bank ran out of the holiday boxes but they were given boxes when more food became available.
The San Pedro Actors Troupe (SPATS) from Oracle collected boxes of canned food during their production of the play “My Husband’s Wildest Desires.”
Christine Obert of SPATS delivered the donated canned goods to the Food Bank. Johnnie Seballos and Jerry Bribiescas delivered two loads of food collected by the Knights of Columbus.
Their food was collected at St. HelensChurchin Oracle and the Blessed Sacrament Church in Mammoth. Another load would be arriving from the St. Bartholomew’s Parish in San Manuel.
The Knights of Columbus collected and donated more than 1200 pounds of food.
