The Superior High School Girls and Boys Basketball season is well underway. The teams have been playing multiple games a week.
Boys varsity basketball has a season record of 2-7. To date, the Panthers have played the following teams: Ray (L) 59-82, Florence (L) 44-75, Coolidge (L) 47-91, Miami (W) 64-59, Hayden (L) 44-46, Canyon State Academy (L) 27-70, Salt River (L) 52-57, Miami (W) 42-40, and Salt River (L) 55-68.
High scorers for the season so far are Albert Mendoza with 133 points, Mario Padilla with 74 points, Jesse Aguilar with 60 points, and Louie Fuentes with 58 points.
The Panthers will play Gilbert Classical Academy in Gilbert on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. They will play in Globe on January 11 at 7 p.m.

The girls varsity basketball team has a season record of 1-7. The Panthers have played the following teams: Ray (L) 60-32, Florence (L) 41-7, Coolidge (L) 54-25, Miami (L) 48-14, Hayden (W) 29-23, JO Combs (L) 45-28, Miami (L) 52-12 and Salt River (L) 59-10.
High Scorers for the Lady Panthers are Kiara Romero with 37 points, Cierra Navarrette with 19 points, Christine Grap with 18 points, and tied with 16 points each are Mariza Padilla and Kiyoko Alonzo.
The lady Panthers will play Coolidge on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. in Coolidge. On January 11, they will play in Globe against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m.
