Sheriff’s Report

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Report is taken from the daily logs, based on the information provided by deputies. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

March 7

Shots fired was reported in the 6600 block of N. Valentine Rd., Dudleyville. The gunshots were traced to a residence in the 6500 block of Pebbles, Dudleyville. The person told the deputy that a raccoon was attacking the resident’s dog. The raccoon was shot after it injured the dog.

Assault was reported at Mountain Vista School in Oracle. The incident involved fighting students.

Threatening/intimidation was reported in the 700 block of S. McNab Parkway, San Manuel, at a baseball game. A parent reportedly threatened an umpire.

March 8

Colten Wayne White, 22, Winkelman, was arrested in the 5900 block of Highway 77, Oracle, on a warrant for interfering with judicial proceedings. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

Assault was reported by hospital officials. The assault reportedly occurred in the Oracle area.

An accident without injuries was reported in the 600 block of W. Fourth Ave., San Manuel. A driver struck a parked vehicle. Elizabeth Matthews, 21, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI), extreme DUI (blood alcohol content over .15) and alcohol-related accident (no injuries). She was cited and released.

Two students at San Manuel High School were reported in possession of narcotics.

March 9

Christopher Nicholas Benavidez, 22, Dudleyville, was arrested at milepost 90 on Highway 77, Oracle, on a warrant for interfering with judicial proceedings. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

March 10

A runaway juvenile was reported in the 36000 block of Mt. Lemmon Rd., Oracle. The juvenile was later found by school officials.

An accident without injuries was reported at the junction of Highways 77 and 79, Oracle Junction.

Criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of S. McNab Parkway, San Manuel. A vehicle’s window was shot with a BB gun.

Theft of a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of W. Sixth Ave., San Manuel. The vehicle was loaned to a friend who did not return it. Deputies discovered that the vehicle had been impounded by Pima County Sheriff’s Office for 30 days after a traffic stop in Catalina.

March 11

Stephen Bruno Bertorelli, 34, Tucson, was arrested on Highway 77, Oracle, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

A single vehicle rollover accident was reported on S. Redington Rd., San Manuel. Deputies discovered that the accident occurred seven miles into Pima County south of the Cascabel Rd. turnoff. The scene was turned over to Pima County Sheriff’s Office.

Burglary was reported in the 600 block of S. Vista Sierra St., San Manuel.

Burglary was reported in the 600 block of W. Fifth Ave., San Manuel.

Shoplifting was reported at a business in the 400 block of S. Avenue A, San Manuel. Taken were several 12-packs of soda. The person was arrested, cited for theft and released.

March 12

Approximately eight to nine juveniles were reported as runaways in the 36000 block of S. Mt. Lemmon Rd., Oracle. It was later determined that only two students were actually running away from the school; the others were “apprehending” them. One of the runaway students returned with the others and the second one was located and returned later.

Criminal damage was reported in the 300 block of E. Fifth Pl., San Manuel. A shed door was damaged.

Theft of a tablet computer was reported in the 300 block of E. Madera Ave., San Manuel. The reporting person’s son sold the tablet but was unable to get it back, so it was reported as stolen.

March 13

Doreen Evelyn Martinez, 41, Tucson, was arrested in the 1400 block of N. Justice Dr., Oracle, on warrants for interfering with judicial proceedings and probation violation. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Ocie Albert Morrison Jr., 54, Dudleyville, was arrested on Highway 77, Dudleyville, on warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply with a court order. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Edward Charles Contreras, 48, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Main St., Superior, and was charged with threatening/intimidation. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

An accident with injuries was reported in the area of W. American Ave. and N. Rancho Robles Rd., Oracle. A truck struck a bicyclist.

Assault was reported in the 900 block of N. Robles Rd., Oracle.

March 14

Jose Manuel Hernandez, 30, Dudleyville, was arrested in the area of Horseshoe Dr. and Highway 77, Dudleyville, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Richard Sellick Marin, 49, Globe, was arrested on Highway 177, Kearny, on two failure to appear warrants. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Theft of a vehicle was reported in the 37000 block of S. Boulder Wind Dr., SaddleBrooke. The vehicle was later located.
