Lady Miners take tough loss in clash with Titans

The San Manuel Lady Miners varsity volleyball team took a tough loss 3 – 0, against very tough Chandler Prep Lady Titans squad on October 15 at home.
The Lady Miners fell in the first match 25 – 16, came up short in the second match 25 -14, and lost in the third and final match 25 – 17. San Manuel did stay competitive as they fought of several rallies by the Lady Titans as the Lady Miners put a couple of rallies of their own together but could not hold off Chandler Prep.
Offensively for the Lady Miners, Brittany Allison had four kills; Theresa Sweeney had one kill and one block; Angelica Zuniga had three kills, four blocks, and one dig; Mireya Tamayo had one dig; Kadi Monfred had two kills, one ace, one dig, and one assists; Analisa Robles had four kills; Ana Zuniga had one ace; Lyana Waddell had one ace; and Felicia Gomez had two digs, and six assists.
With the loss, the Lady Miners now post a record of 8 – 6 overall with a 2 – 3 region record.
The Lady Miners will host the San Carlos Lady Braves on October 24, with the JV playing at 5 pm and the varsity taking the court at 6 pm.
