In Isaiah 7:14 we are told, “A virgin will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel, which means: God is with us.” In Luke 2:11 we read these words, “Today in the town of David, which is Bethlehem, a Savior has been born to you: He is Christ the Lord.”
Isaiah’s prophetic ministry served under four kings: Uzziah, Jothan, Ahaz and Hezekiah. He possibly wrote his book sometime around 700 B.C. He knew back then that Jesus, the Messiah, would be born some 700 years later.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians chapter 1, “I am asking that our glorious Father will give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation – so that you may know Him better.”
How well do you know Jesus, your Savior and Lord? He came as a child, to live and grow in human form. He understands very well the problems of life that we face, because He went through the same type of situations and experiences growing up. His great love means that He cares about how we live and what situations we have to deal with.
In this yearly season of joy, peace and celebration, I pray that you may come to know Jesus better. Talk to Him daily for advice on living your life successfully. May you have a very blessed and merry Christmas! God bless you, Pastor Dennis.
