Superior Public Library is offering the Food for Fines program the whole month of December. During this time patrons may pay late fees with canned food items.
Overdue fines may be forgiven with one canned food item for each dollar owed. Amounts for lost or damaged items will not be part of the program. All items collected will be given to the Superior Food Bank. This is a great opportunity for patrons who owe fines to remove all late fees from their record and return overdue books, while also helping the food bank. Anyone who does not have late fees and wishes to bring in their donation of canned goods may do so also. The Superior Food Bank is a very worthwhile community outreach organization who helps many people in our community.
The Friends of the Superior Public Library will hold a Book Sale from Dec. 16 – 19, 2013, at the library. Hardcover books sell for 25 cents and pocketbooks sell for 10 cents or 15/$1.00. Come early for best selection. Proceeds benefit many worthwhile needs, activities and programs at the library.
