Cobre Valley Institute of Technology (CVIT) is pleased to announce the Building Trades Program for the 2014-2015 school year. “We are very excited about this new program. In cooperation with Gila Community College we will be able to offer high quality education and meet local and state industry needs. We strive for excellence in education and citizenship for our students. With a wide variety of programs we hope to meet everyone’s interest,” said Beata Tarasiuk, CVIT’s executive program director. CVIT is currently offering eight central programs, seven of them in partnership with Gila Community College with no cost to the student. High school students from Superior, Hayden, Miami, Globe, and San Carlos are able to get their college and professional career started while still in high school.

The new Building Trades program will be held at the Gila Community College Regional Training Center (RTC) in lower Miami. Students will be taking general construction courses such as Beginning Carpentry, Drywall Maintenance and Repair, Blue Print Reading, Concrete Work, Plumbing, Forming and Framing, Electricity, AutoCAD and Electrical House Wiring. The program will lead to Certificate of Proficiency. For more information about CVIT programs contact Beata Tarasiuk at 928-425-9654.
