Comets host AZWAY Tournament

This past week, the Comet Wrestling Club had another strong showing in front of their home crowd. Nine wrestlers from the Tri-Community earned hardware.

“The Mammoth-San Manuel Community Schools wrestling program has over 50 wrestlers in their program,” said Comets Coach Daniel Najera. “These boys practice daily, have solid coaches and a great support system. Our program will continue to grow. These boys are working hard and are improving every time they step on the mat.”

Individual results from the meet are:

Charles Croci- Champion

Anthony Lopez- Champion

Adrian Torres- Champion

Mathias Medina- Runner-up

Carlos Salas- Runner-up

Jacob Medina- Runner-up

Joseph Lopez- Runner-up

Marty Rodriguez- Runner-up

Cisco Medina- 5th place

The Comets will be competing in the Arizona Cup High School Duals this weekend at Marana Mt. View. The winning team receives free entry to the America’s Cup in Anaheim, California in May. Mt. View will also be hosting another K-8 tournament.
