Advent is a season of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church will hold weekly Advent Worship Services from December 1 through the 22nd, beginning at 10:00AM. Sunday school classes are available for youngsters, and will include Advent related material and crafts.

Each Sunday will include the lighting of an Advent Candle and Scriptures anticipating the coming of Christ. The 4 Advent candles represent hope, love, joy and peace.

On Christmas Eve the 5:00PM service will include a 5th candle referred to as the Christ Candle. There will be carols and candlelight to welcome families and people of all ages. The choir, along with special guests, will consist of instrumentalists, vocal solos and duets

The Sanctuary has been decorated in seasonal colors of purple and blue. The Christmas tree is covered in chrismons (Christian symbols) made by friends and members of the church. A special nativity scene at the back of the Sanctuary was created by member Dotty Voss. Additional decorations include wreaths and swags at the entrance to the ramada, as well as throughout this outdoor area used for fellowship following Sunday services.

The church is located at 14024 Oracle Road, at the intersection of Mountainaire Dr. For more information about this very active church we invite you to go to our website: www.mountainshadowschurch.org.
