Wanda Oneta Clinton

Wanda Oneta Clinton, 89, went to be with Jesus on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020.  Wanda was born in Tribbey, OK on June 20, 1931.  Her parents were Frank and Doxie Cobb.  She was the oldest of six children.  Her siblings were Walcie, Bobby Joe, Margaret, Butch and Patty.  Walcie is her only remaining sibling.

Wanda married Earl Clinton on Feb. 4, 1950 in Ponca City, OK.  They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

They moved to Arizona in 1955 and raised their five children – Vicki (Virgil) Damron of Oracle, Earl Clinton Jr. (who preceded her in death in 2016), Terry (Colleen) Clinton of Catalina, Larry (Cheryl) Clinton of San Manuel, and Tonya (Steve) Taylor of San Manuel.

She has 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Heather Clinton, and one great grandson, Hunter Vindiola.

She had a great love for her family.  All of her children lived within 15 miles of her.  She was known to most, even nieces and nephews, as Mammaw, Grandma or Grammy.  Her family gathered on special occasions and as often as they could.  Their main gathering was Christmas.  She loved Christmas and made it very special for everyone.  Until her death, she continued to buy personal gifts for every single person, including any friend or boyfriend/girlfriend that came home for Christmas.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Viewing was Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley.  Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at the San Manuel Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Horn and Wanda’s cousin, Pastor Louie Bennett, from Oklahoma.  She was buried at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth near her son and granddaughter.

Pallbearers were:  Steven Taylor, Donny Clinton, EJ Clinton, Gage Vindiola, Isaiah Clinton and JJ Clinton.  Honorary Pallbearer was Tanner Decker.

Out of state family that attended were:  Cousins Louie Bennett, Kaye Hulsey, Samantha Hayt and Alex, and nephew Ronnie Cobb, all traveled from Oklahoma.

Rest peacefully, Mom, until we meet again on Heaven’s shores.
