Shop at Home: Rose’s Roses

In April, COVID-19 brought much of Arizona’s economy to a screeching halt. All businesses not deemed “essential” were ordered closed by Arizona’s governor Doug Ducey.

The lockdown continued for nearly two months. When Gov. Ducey finally gave the go ahead to reopen, businesses slowly began the road to recovery. Even those listed as “essential” had a challenge with this economic recovery.

Many small businesses and non-profits in Arizona didn’t survive the lockdown. The businesses that did survive are hanging on as best they can. Copper Area News wanted to give something back to the local business community. Over the next several weeks, our newspapers (Copper Basin News, Superior Sun and San Manuel Miner) will be featuring local businesses and non-profits, encouraging our readers to Shop at Home, stay local and support our local businesses.

It is hard enough making it as a small business in a small town during normal times. But to balance those difficulties during a pandemic adds an entirely different twist to things.

In June, Rosemary Quiroz and her family will celebrate 15 years of business, owning Rose’s Roses Flowers and gifts.  Rose’s Roses can accommodate your flower orders for all occasions: birthdays, just because, sympathy, weddings and so much more.  She also carries a variety of indoor and outdoor plants along with a variety of home decor items.   Rose can also create silk flower arrangements for those looking for a more permanent floral arrangement. If you are looking for a specific arrangement or floral gift, reach out to Rose to set an appointment to make an order.

A few years ago, Rose and her husband Argel Quiroz purchased their current building, located at 204 Main Street, which includes an outdoor deck and an attached apartment and is home to several mini stores under the banner of Sun Flour Market.  Currently the deck is used during the day by the Sun Flour Market but can also be rented for private events and parties and the apartment can be rented for short term rentals.  At this time the apartment is rented. Sun Flour Market will be featured in a future article.

Rose’s Roses provides delivery services to outlying communities as well as funeral and wedding services throughout the Copper Corridor.  To make your orders for Valentine’s Day or make any other flower and plant orders, contact Rose directly via phone at 520-689-2400 or 520-827-9421.

Rose’s Roses is a member of the Superior Chamber of Commerce and is also participating in the Great Gift Card Giveaway.  Purchase something for $5 and you are entered to win a $100 gift card from that store.
