Robert “Bobby” Chavez Sr., 65, of Hayden, Arizona entered into eternal rest in the early morning of Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021.

Robert was born the youngest son of Guillermo and Cruzita Chavez on June 18, 1955 in Ray, Arizona. Robert grew up with a brother and four sisters. Robert attended Hayden High School and was a proud Hayden Lobo. He graduated in May 1973. After graduation, he began his career at Kennecott/ASARCO as a local miner and proud member of the United Steel Workers Union 915.

Robert was a loving family man who treasured his wife “Mi Amor” Sherry, three sons and one daughter. Robert, or Tata as they call him, has 15 grandchildren. Over the years you could find Robert socializing with friends, celebrating with family, spending precious moments with his grandchildren, bringing smiles and laughter to all he encountered, or washing his Betsy (the big red truck).

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruby Alderete, and grandson Myles Migliore. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sherry, his children Robert Jr (Bethany), Reuben (Jessica), Mike (Lisa), and Pamela, his many grandchildren, his siblings Guillermo Jr., Isabel, Gloria, and Valerie, many nieces and nephews, and a huge extended family.

Services for Robert were held Friday, March 7, 2021 at St Joseph’s Parish in Hayden, Arizona. He was laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery, Hayden, AZ.
