Resolution Copper Mining has posted its 1,000+ page Mine Plan of Operations on its company website, www.resolutioncopper.com.
“Posting the MPO to the website demonstrates our commitment to openly and transparently working with our neighboring communities and stakeholders,” said Andrew Taplin, project director. “Often, MPOs are not available for public review until the governing agency – in our case, the U.S. Forest Service – concludes its completeness review. This review is expected to take many months.”
The plan was filed with the Forest Service on Nov. 15. It is the result of eight years of intense study and preliminary exploration by a strong team of experts from within and outside Resolution Copper. It is a comprehensive, detailed examination of how the company will build and operate what is expected to be North America’s largest copper mine.
The Resolution Copper Project, taking shape in Superior, Ariz., is an engineering and economic undertaking that will supply the nation with billions of pounds of copper and secure Arizona’s future through thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic benefits for years to come.
