Ray heads to St. David for first football game of the season

  Are you ready for some football?

  The Ray Bearcats are.

  Last week, on Friday, the Bearcats traveled to Duncan for a pre-season scrimmage. The boys will travel to St. David on Friday, Aug. 19, to kick off their 2022 season with a head-to-head clash with the Tigers.

  The football team prepares to start its 2022 season with the following line-up:

Seniors – Josh Walters, Hunter Day, and Carlos Lechuga.

Juniors – Joseph Morales, Blake Fales, Marcos Torres, and Armani Bennett.

Sophomores – Chris Curiel, Alex Lechuga, Reggie Lechuga, Mark Chester, and Gaje Nichols.

Freshmen – Jason Day, and Jaxon Cude.

  Jason Wernett will be leading the Bearcats as their head coach, being assisted by coaches, Alfred Lechuga, Danny Fessenden, Fred Cruz, Jacob Wernett, James Fessenden, Jonathan Wernett, and Steven Naranjo.

  Friday’s game will take place at St. David High School with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.
