Peggy Juanita Lankford Cassell
Peggy Juanita Lankford Cassell, born Feb. 10, 1920 in Ranger, Texas, passed away on Feb. 12, 2013, at the age of 93. She was raised in Eastland, Texas until the age of 13, before moving to Artesia, New Mexico with her mother and father, Ara and Denner Lankford and her older sister Kathryn.
The family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1935 where she met Harold Cassell, when they were sophomores in high school. They graduated in May, 1937 and married Oct. 17 1937 To them was born Sylvia Jean in 1939. They moved to Silver City in 1942; Hurley, New Mexico in 1943; and San Manuel in 1955.
She was a homemaker, housewife and mother and is survived by her husband, Harold. They celebrated their 75th anniversary in Oct., 2012. She is also survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Robert) Schmidt from San Manuel.
