Good Tidings of Great Joy!

And the angel said unto them, “Fear not; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”

“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.”         Luke 2:10-11, 14

As we look back on 2020, it has been a year like no other. It has left many fearful, angry and without a hope. Frustrations were taken to the streets and against each other. Why is it a normal human reaction that when we are hurt we tend to take it out on others?

When we are hurting, and many around us are hurting, we sit with our hurts long enough that we say “enough of this, I am going to do something about this”. What do we do, what can we do?

We first have to overcome that fear that holds us hostage. The best way as our angel said: “bring some good tidings”, some good news! Be joyful, encourage one another, build one another up! Share some good news, be some good news to those around you and put a smile on your face!

Second, instead of looking around with all that is wrong, look up! Look up to God, our Father, give glory to Him and wait and see what will happen! It will bring a peace in the storm, which will bring good will toward men.

As 2020 comes to a close, be mindful that the best news the world has ever heard was the story of the baby born in a manger over 2000 years ago! The baby who grew up to be our Savior, who is Christ the Lord!

All of us at Family First pray the joy and peace of Christ be with you and your families throughout the holiday season and into the New Year!

God bless,
