  Rev. Dennis H. Van Gorp passed away Aug. 14, 2022, at age 70 in Superior, AZ. He was born on Sept. 9, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1962, he moved with his parents and siblings from Pella, Iowa to Phoenix, AZ.

  Dennis was married for 49 years to his dear wife Sandy. Dennis worked or volunteered as pastor of Family Life Christian Center, chaplain for Aviant Hospice, chaplain for Superior Fire Department, chaplain for Superior Police Department, and Chairman of Superior Food Bank.

  Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lenore. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Melody; sons, Dale and Daniel (Kendra); four grandsons; his brother, Gregory (Debbie); and sister, Judith (Jan-Arne).

  A visitation and viewing will take place on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Superior Funeral Home, 379 Ray Rd., Superior, AZ.  Services will take place at Family Life Christian Center, 56 N. Kellner Ave, Superior, AZ, on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022. Visitation is set to begin at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Lunch reception will immediately follow at Los Hermanos Restaurant Ballroom, 835 US 60, Superior, AZ. All are welcome. Interment for Dennis will then follow at 2 p.m. at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ.

  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made at Superior Food Bank, P. O. Box 171 Superior, AZ.
