“To those brave men” When we hear this phrase, it brings to mind a man who is not afraid. A man that faces whatever the world brings. A man who is capable of defending himself from his foes.
Father’s Day comes and I want to dedicate the phrase, today, to these brave men. I know that their goal is not always easy They carry, on their backs, the care of their wife and children, to give what is necessary and more. My respect to those men who rise early each day to go earn the bread of each day, tired and even sick, who aren’t held back because love of family is bigger than their own tiredness or sickness. To these dads that, up to now, have passed years living like this.
How many dads are there, already tired, that continue working with the energy of a young man. Many younger men don’t even reach halfway to these men’s ages, and, they pass their lives in complaining. Our dads have committed errors that we can’t forgive, but, who are we to judge? Remember that life will give back what you give. One thing that we owe them is to remember to thank those persons that are the reason why we exist? Good or bad, it was instrumental, so that we could live and with that done, being alive today, it is the biggest blessing from God to us.
On one occasion, I visited a nursing home and I was filled with sadness to see so many old men alone, sad and sick. They said no one visits them, and, even though I was a stranger to them, they felt happy for a while. I wore a western hat, and, as I walked in, one commented “A cowboy!”, and some of them smiled or laughed. These are dads that gave the best of their years, and, now that they are older, are forgotten.
We don’t need to go so far as to a nursing home. Some that we know, neighbors and friends, are in the same situation. The same as a mother, a father is just as important in the family. A lot of times, we forget to remember that. Having our parents is a giant blessing that we don’t value like we should. When we lose a loved one, it is at that moment when we know how important he or she is in our lives. Those who have the opportunity to have their dad, celebrate this Father’s Day to the max. In the following days, secure and learn to teach the many things we need to teach.
For some reason, God gave us this ability, here in this world, to those He calls or called “Dad”. You can also convert an adopted son of a forgotten Dad. You can have him pass a happy while that, for him, is unforgettable. Many times, to be a family doesn’t mean through blood, but, the love and care that is shared and given.
God bless all the Fathers, not only on this day, but, always.
Best wishes,
