The Pinal Rural Fire Rescue hopes to train citizens on what to do when a person has a heart attack. The training program was greatly enhanced when the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation and Oracle Ford presented 11 Resusci Anne training unit to the organization in formal ceremonies.
CPR training teaches a person how to keep the heart beating while waiting for professional help to arrive. The training takes from three to five hours of intensive practice and lectures.
The CPR unit gives signals telling when the trainee is applying the right pressure in the right spot or breathing correctly into the victim’s mouth. With training, the student learns the “feel” of giving quick lifesaving emergency treatment.
In presenting the CPR unit, which is essential for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, Patrice Ross, one of the owners of Oracle, Ford said “If the right kind of treatment can be given to a heart attack victim within seconds after he or she is stricken, the chances are good that the life can be saved.”
Ms. Ross went on to say that since the involvement of Americans training in CPR, there has been an increase in long-term survivors from ventricular fibrillation. There are many cases where the training is given to citizens showing that many heart attack victims who otherwise die have been saved and returned to normal activities.
In accepting the CPR training unit, Deanna and Bud Paine said the organization had set a goal to train at least 250 persons in the next year, free of charge.
In 1917, 30 auto dealers traveled to the nation’s capital to convince Congress not to impose luxury tax on the automobile. They successfully argued that the automobile is a necessity of American life, not a luxury.
From that experience was born the National Automobile Dealers Association. Today, NADA represents nearly 16,000 new car and truck dealerships with about 32,500 franchises, both domestic and international. Oracle Ford is a member of NADA.
