Florence- District 1 Supervisor Pete Rios, along with Casa Grande resident HR Paddock were recognized for their service as members of the Pinal County Employee Benefit Trust.
The Board of Supervisors partially self-funds a health benefit program to help manage costs through the Pinal County Employee Benefit Trust. A board of trustees, appointed by the Supervisors, oversee and manage the employee health benefits. The trust members are not compensated for their time.
Supervisor Rios decided to step down at the end of the year in order to give another board member the chance to serve on the trust. Rios served five years on the trust.
“I voluntarily stepped down to give another supervisor a chance to see what the trust is and how it operates,” Rios said. “It was a pleasure serving with the other members of the trust and learning more about how to cut health care costs and provide good coverage.”
Paddock is retiring from the Pinal County Employee Benefit Trust after serving for 14 years. He is currently a Vice President and Senior Loan Officer for the North Pinal Avenue branch of the Foothills Bank.
“I enjoyed working with the other trustees and working for the Pinal County employees,” Paddock said. “I have a greater appreciation for the efforts at trying to contain health care costs.”
