Several actions were taken at the Mammoth Town Council meeting held on Oct. 17.
Steve Wedwick of NCS Engineers gave the council an update on the Mammoth water well project.
Mayor Barcelo announced the appointment of Daniel Lopez to the Planning and Zoning Committee. Daniel was sworn in by Town Manager Patsy Large.
The council approved entering into an intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Department of Economic Security. The town will provide a kiosk for the public to use. DES is expected to close their offices at the end of the month. Francis Wickham said they should wait to approve the agreement and should work on keeping the DES offices open. She said she has a number of letters and petitions from the public asking the state to keep the offices open
Patsy Large read a letter from Jose Zazueta praising public works for the work they did on the Mammoth Little League field.
The council approved the application to sell beer at the New Year’s Eve Dance at the Blessed Sacrament Church.
Mayor Barcelo removed Joe Brewer from being authorized to sign checks and approve Rogina Medina as a check signer.
Mayor Barcelo removed Council Member Francis Wickham as the Coordinator of the Mammoth Senior Citizen Group. The Mammoth Senior Citizens apparently don’t want to be under the control of the Mammoth Town Council and will be moving to the Lions Club in Mammoth.
