According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.
Feb. 1
An open door was found at a residence by an officer on the 200 block of Fairhaven. All was well as residents left doors open after painting the interior of the house.
A request for a welfare check was received for a resident on the 100 block of Jamestown.
Citizen assist with a fingerprinting request.
An attempt to locate report was received.
Report of sexual misconduct with a minor was received. Information was forwarded to proper authorities.

Feb. 2

Report received of a vehicle being driven erratically on Hwy 177. DPS was contacted.
A stray dog was reported on the 400 block of Greenwich.
Suspicious activity was reported at Hubbard Park.
Rudy Newton Lorona, 27 of Kearny, was arrested on three warrants. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Detention Center in Florence.
Feb. 3
A report was received of harassment of the 400 block of Jamestown.
An unoccupied vehicle was discovered on the south end of the airport.
Citizen assist request in regards to a locked vehicle.
A 911 hang-up was investigated on the 400 block of Ivanhoe. All was well.
Suspicious activity was reported on the 400 block of Essex.
A welfare check was requested.
Lights were found on after hours at the Southern Baptist Church on 300 block of Danbury. Check of the area indicated all was secure.
Report of a truck speeding down the 400 block of Jamestown heading toward corral area was taken. Negative contact.
Feb. 4
Extra patrol was requested on the 200 block of Fairhaven.
A light was found on in the Ray Schools maintenance shop. Area was checked and was secure.
Feb. 5
A concerned citizen reported a small dog sitting in the middle of 300 block of Hartford.
A written warning was issued for a vicious dog at large.
Feb. 6
An open gate was discovered at Ray Elementary School. The area was checked and was secure.
A back pack was found at the RHS gym and turned into the police department.
Extra patrol was requested on the 100 block of Johnston.
Dollar bills were found and turned into the police department.
Feb. 7
Three written warnings were issued for obstructing a residential sidewalk. (Kearny Town Code restricts objects such as basketball hoops on sidewalks as were the above violations.)
Two written warnings were issued for speed.
A run away child report was taken.
A welfare report was requested on the 400 block of Jamestown.
Other calls included 6 ambulance runs and eight information reports.
