Margarito ‘Mague’ Salazar

Margarito “Mague” Salazar, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 peacefully at his home in Mammoth.
Margarito was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Bisbee, Arizona to Margarito and Paula Salazar. In his youth, Margarito lived in Naco, Sonora, Mexico until 1973 when he moved to Mammoth, where he lived and worked for 39 years. He worked for ASARCO for 17 years as a loader operator. He loved visiting the casino and mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Margarito is survived by his loving wife Socorro, whom he married 53 years ago in Naco, Sonora, Mexico. He also leaves behind his daughters, Olga (Enrique) Famania of San Louis, Mexico and Rosa (Daniel) Chavez of Mammoth; son, Ramon (Ana) Salazar of Mammoth; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Paula Salazar; and his son and daughter-in-law Francisco and Alicia Gallego.
Services for Mr. Salazar were held Friday, Jan. 4, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth. Interment was at the Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
