KEARNY – Veronica Angelica Victoria Baez demonstrated all the best qualities at the Gila County Second Annual Cinderella Pageant and walked away with the crown at the Miami High School auditorium on Sat., Mar. 9.

She came home with the Cinderella Beauty trophy, sash and crown in the Cinderella Tots category. This category, for young ladies age three to six years, is the combined scores from the tot personality on-stage interview and both modeling of party and casual wear presentations. The girls are judged for personality, poise and confidence.

Baez also received the Cover Girl trophy, sash and crown. The Cover Girl is an optional competition that has no bearing on any other area of the competition. A separate panel of judges chooses the best submitted photo, looking for qualities similar to those sought for in the photogenic competition.

All the contestants in Saturday’s competition are eligible to participate in the 2013 Arizona Cinderella State Finals, which will be held Jun. 9 to 14, and the Arizona Charm Girl Pageant on Jun. 9 at the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.

Baez is the daughter of Paul and Dolores Baez of Kearny as well as the granddaughter of Steve and Gloria Beltran of Kearny and Juan and Elsa Baez of Dripping Springs. There will be fundraising events to cover her expenses during her six-day stay in Laughlin to attend the state finals.
