William Alcantar Corrales “Curly”, 87, born on Sept. 23, 1927 in Aravaipa, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 9, 2015 in Tucson. He worked as a contractor.
William is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen B. Corrales; his parents, Eduardo and Antonia Corrales; three brothers, Nacho, Jano and Palomo; and three sisters, Inez, Guera and Memay.
William is survived by his four children, Debra Corrales de Estrella (Francisco), Patricia Corrales, William Corrales, Jr. “Boy” (Angie), and Carmen Araiza (Ruben); and two nieces he saw as daughters, Gloria Peña (Martin) and Yolanda Lopez “Bonnie” (Ernesto Sr.). Tata Curly also known as “Pops” is survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 14, in the South Chapel of Carillo’s Tucson Mortuary, with the Rosary held at 7 p.m. Mass was celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Cathedral, followed by interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.
