Why do you love Superior? Let your voice be heard!

The Superior Chamber of Commerce has been hard at work over the past few months to develop a plan to attract new businesses and help maintain existing businesses in Superior. They have hired three consulting groups to assist with this planning and many locals will be contacted to have one-on-one interviews about their individual businesses and thoughts on what can be improved in Superior and also share about what is working. The program is called the “Business Attraction Program.”

On Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Superior Chamber of Commerce building (165 W. Main St.), there will be a second and final meeting for the public to attend to provide input on what the community needs. You do not have to be a business owner to attend and everyone is encouraged to attend and participate. This meeting will provide a background on the project but will also allow meeting participants to share in a discreet manner what they love about Superior and what they would like to see changed or improved in Superior. The discussion is not just focused on business needs but the entire needs of the community, topics such as code enforcement, recreation, internal community relations and arts and culture all play a role in developing a stronger community.

The findings at these meetings will help the Chamber of Commerce and community leaders to identify what the next steps are in growing a stronger more sustainable economy that is not reliant on the mining industry. The process has been funded by Resolution Copper in their efforts to help grow a sustainable economy in Superior.

For more information on the program or to learn more about the meeting contact the Superior Chamber of Commerce at 520-689-0200. Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP.
