Cher Heath is a warm hearted person with a love and passion for animals. Heath runs the non-profit Charlotte’s Way Rescue in Oracle. Formerly Tri-Community At-Risk Rescue, the rescue continues to help all animals find health, happiness and a new home.

Heath loved being around Charlotte her predecessor, because Charlotte gave her a sense of responsibility to something. The animal rescue is an important part of her life and she considers it a calling, not just a job.

Pet adoption is not something to be taken lightly. Before you make your decision to adopt, think about your environment, the willingness and patience you have to work with an animal, the right attitude and the expenses that may be incurred.

Consider there are about 10 to 12 million adoptable pets in any given time in shelters nationwide. Many of these animals were given up by owners, while others are found on streets or dumped.

When adopting a dog or cat from Charlotte’s Way Rescue, the animal will be neutered/spayed, fecal tested, up to date on shots and will even have manners. Many of the animals are house trained and trained with the Ceasar Millan dog training. Heath is happy to train anyone who would like to learn or is interested in the training.

Charlotte’s Way Rescue has many programs tailored to help people adopt including Senior for Seniors, Vets for Vets, programs for people with low income or other special needs. Charlotte’s Way Rescue attends Petco in Oro Valley for adoption clinics every Friday. If you would like to attend a Friday adoption clinic, you may just find the right pet for you and your family.

Choosing to adopt a pet makes sense for many reasons. saving a life, saving money and you might just find your best friend. Some of the animals available through Charlotte’s Way Rescue just need a second chance.

Heath would ultimately enjoy seeing the animals she has available adopted to happy homes where there is a perfect match between owner and pet. The Rescue works with veterinarians in Tucson to help provide a low cost neutering and spaying as well as vaccinations. There will be upcoming spay and neutering clinics locally.

She truly appreciates her current volunteers but is in dire need for more. The Charlotte’s Way Rescue Volunteers are needed for duties such as walking dogs, cleaning of crates and kennels, washing animals, playing with animals, adoption clinics at Petco, watering and changing pool waters and other tasks. They are also in need of donations for items such as clean old towels, blankets, collars, area rugs, toys, empty water bottles, cat trees, cat boxes, crates, kennels, fencing, large sheds (for cat sanctuary), working wash machines for pet laundry and any shade type items.

Charlotte’s Way Rescue would like to thank the current volunteers for all they do and everyone in the Tri-Community area for their continued support, with a big thank you to the Oro Valley Petco and the Catalina Rawhide Hay and Feed for their help and support.

Donations can be given to the Oracle Fire Department or the San Manuel Fire Department. Charlotte’s Way Rescue has recently added a sister office in Kearny with more details about this site to come.
