Virginia Lee Boeger

was born Jan. 23, 1919 to William Roy Miller and Lula Miller, at Peculiar, Missouri.  She died Feb. 15, 2015 , in Phoenix, Arizona.

Virginia L. Miller and John B. Boeger were married October 30, 1937, in Belton, Mo.  They made their home in Arizona, living in Tucson, and Phoenix before moving to Ray, Arizona in 1941 where John worked for Kennecott Copper Corp.  In 1948 they moved to Superior,  AZ, where they owned the Western Auto Store.  They made many lifelong friends in Superior.  They moved to Phoenix and owned a NAPA auto parts store (Desert Auto Supply) until they retired. 

After retiring they traveled in a VW camper to all of the states and the south part of Canada.

Virginia was an amateur artist.  She was a member of the Valley Artist League and the Scottsdale Artist League.  She also made Teddy Bears out of mink fur jackets, rabbit fur and lamb’s wool for customers all across the United States and Canada.

Virginia was a member of the Christian Church.  She enjoyed friends in the Church Circle at Desert Christian Fellowship and the Bible Study at Christian Care, where she lived for many years.

Virginia is survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred Miller, of Peculiar, Mo.; nephews, Glen and Jerry Miller of Missouri; Edward LeRoy Boeger of Mesa, AZ and Sam Harper of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by special friends, Connie Rojas, Carmen Cook, Irene and Ron Childress, John and Jeanette Mihalis, and Pat, Jerry and Joe Sanders.

Celebration of life to be held March 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Fellowship Square, 2002 W. Sunnyside Dr. PHX, AZ  85029.

Private services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
