VFW hosting weekly events, inviting new members

The VFW Harry Truman Post 3584 in Superior is looking for a few good men and women to join the VFW or the Auxiliary. VFW members must have served in a foreign war and dues are $30 a year. Those who have not served in the armed forces but are direct relatives of a veteran who served overseas may join the auxiliary for $35 a year. The auxiliary is now open to both men and women. Currently the post has about 68 members.

The post has added karaoke with Bobby Cook on Wednesday nights from 5-8 p.m. at the post hall. Friday’s the post continues to host bingo and they are inviting all the local bingo players to come back, the post would like increase the amount of the prizes but cannot do so unless participation increases.

They are also hosting a family-friendly Halloween event in conjunction with the Superior Optimist Club scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30. The event will include the annual Halloween parade, costume contest, trunk or treating and games for everyone. More details will be made available as they are finalized.

Members are invited to watch Monday night football at the post as well. Registered members can bring up to six guests. For more information on joining the post or auxiliary or to learn more about upcoming events, please contact Michael Montiel at 480-272-3786.
