Vera Henderson
Vera Henderson, 97 years old, passed away on Dec. 19, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. She was surrounded by her family.
Vera was born on June 24, 1920, in Sivells Bend, Texas to Loss and Lucy Tucker. They then moved to Arizona to homestead in Barkerville (north east of Tucson) Arizona. Vera attended a one room schoolhouse with her sister and four brothers and later moved with her family to Ajo.
She married Lyle Henderson and had one son, Jackson. Vera and Lyle retired in Oracle and built their dream home where they enjoyed their final years. Vera loved her family fiercely and enjoyed painting, hunting for old bottles and picnics in the desert near where she was raised.
She is survived by her son Jack, grandsons Colin, Brian and Dan as well as 7 great grandkids.
The service will be on Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Oracle Union Church at 705 E. American Ave., Oracle, AZ. A lunch reception will follow at the church hall. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4
