Superior Arizona – Saturday is shaping up to be a busy day in Superior and a great day to get in the holiday spirit indeed!  OMYA will be hosting the second annual community day at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum; residents of Superior will receive free admission to the park all day on Dec. 3 and will have the opportunity to purchase an annual family membership for half price.

Once you have completed your walk at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, head back into town for the Daystar Studios annual holiday boutique.  Many local crafters and artisans will be selling their wares and collectibles during the event.  The boutique will also be open on Sunday.  Day Star studios is located in the home of Marilee Lasch on the corner of Magma Ave. and Porphyry Ave.

The 13th annual Superior Optimist Club Miracle on Main St. holiday event will start at 3 p.m.  Bouncy castles, train rides and photos by April Marie Lira Photography will begin from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  April Marie Lira Photography will be taking holiday photos inside the Superior Chamber of Commerce building at 165 Main St.  The Optimist Club will be sponsoring one free photo per family, individual or group.  Additional copies can be purchased during the event.

The parade will line up at 5:30 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy school parking lot.  The club is still accepting parade entries; you may register your parade entry by calling JoAnn Besich at 520-827-0676. The parade will leave the JFK parking lot at 6:30 p.m. and will start on Main St. by 7 p.m.   The Superior Chamber of Commerce will be giving away Free Hot Chocolate and there will be a s’mores station starting at 6:30 p.m.  All of the events and activities are free including the photos. Santa will be arriving at the Besich Park following the parade.  Food booths and raffle booths will also open at 3 p.m.
