The No. 1-ranked Ray softball team is now on a six-game winning streak and atop the 1A state rankings after winning all five games it played last week.
Tara Lorona and Emma Alvarado each homered in a 13 – 3 win against Globe last Saturday. Alverado, who also hit one of the Lady Cats’ four doubles in the game, drove in a game-high four runs. Lorona had two RBI to go with her three hits. Daniella Hinojos and Janae Ruiz had a pair of hits apiece with Hinojos also having two RBI.
Hinojos again starred in the circle, picking up the complete-game win after allowing two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
