LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE The membership drive is still ongoing at the Kearny Library. Checks can be mailed to the Friends of the Library, P.O. Box 220, Kearny, AZ 85137.

WASTE DISPOSAL VOUCHER PROGRAM Residents can obtain a voucher for the Waste Disposal Voucher Program at the Board of Supervisors office for the disposal of debris from your primary residence at the Oracle Transfer Station or the Dudleyville Landfill. You must bring a current utility bill with name and service address imprinted as proof of residency. For more information call 520-866-7830. MEDICAL SUPPLY LOANING CLOSET A loaning closet for medical supplies, free of charge to area residents, has been established at Constitution Hall / the Senior Citizen Building in Kearny, located just beyond the swimming pool. Wheel chairs, walkers, crutches and other supplies have been gathered through efforts of the Seniors and the Copper Area Health Volunteers. 4-H DONATIONS HELP YOUTH Pinal County 4-H is seeking donations to continue this worthy program for local youth. Your support helps us provide skills that encourage youth to take responsibility, make good decisions, work well with others, create leadership opportunities and improve their communication skills. KEARNY ELKS LODGE MEETINGS Kearny Elks Lodge #2478 meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m. The lounge has a new schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5 – 8 p.m.

ADULT BOY SCOUT LEADERS NEEDED Boy Scouts of America, Troop 872, based in Kearny and sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS is searching for Adult Leaders that are willing to volunteer time and talents to assist in building the next generation of leaders. ATTENTION LOBOS FANS 65 AND OLDER The Hayden Winkelman School District is honoring all Lobo fans ages 65 and older who reside in our district with a lifetime Royal Senior Pass. ANIMAL VACCINATION & LICENSE CLINIC There will be an Animal Vaccination &License Clinic on Thurs., Feb.7 starting at 6 pm, at the Hayden Fire Department Station, 187 E. Fourth Ave. Rabies vaccination cost is$10; license fees are unaltered $7.50 and altered for $5. All dogs and cats must have current vaccinations and be registered by Feb. 28, or citations will be issued for violation of Town Ordinance 6.008.020 and 6.08.030.

COPPER BASIN IDOL AUDITIONS The Copper Basin Idol Auditions will be in Kearny at the County Building on Fri., Feb. 8, 5-7 p.m. and at the Town Hall in Winkelman on Sat., Feb 9, noon – 2 p.m. Participants must sing the Star Spangled Banner and a second song of their choice. Parents must sign for kids under 18 years of age. All are welcome!

LIONS CLUB BENEFIT BREAKFAST The San Pedro Valley Lions Club in Mammoth will be serving a benefit breakfast on Sun., Feb. 10, at the Lions building, 115 Main St., from 7 a.m. – noon. Menudo and regular breakfast will be served. Takeout orders for pot sales of menudo will be taken until Fri., Feb. 8, by calling 487-2822. Come and support the Lions Club. Funds raised are used for their many projects in the Tri-Community.

ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP The Church of the Good Shepherd will hold an Ash Wednesday service on Wed., Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. to usher in the season of Lent. The church is located at the bottom of School Hill in Kearny.

QUEEN VALLEY COMMUNITY QUILT SHOW The Scrap Rats 11th Annual Queen Valley Community Quilt Show and Viewers’ Choice Awards will take place on Sat., March 2, from 9:30 am – 4 pm at the Queen Valley Recreation Hall. COPPER BASIN WOMEN’S EXPO Come to the Copper Basin Women’s Expo on March 9 from 10 am – 6 pm at the Hayden High School in Winkelman. Admission is $3 or three cans of food. PIONEER DAYS Pioneer Days 2013 has been moved up a week due to Holy Week and Easter, and will now be Mar. 21-24. The theme is Legends and Lore.
