KEARNY GOLF CLUB FISH FRY Kearny Golf Club is holding a fish fry, every Friday, from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at the West End Cafe, until further notice. For take-out call 363-9563. Cost is $9. Proceeds go to benefit the Kearny Golf Club. Thanks to the management of West End Cafe for donating the time and space.

FREE TAX HELP The Pinal – Gila Council for Senior Citizens (PGCSC) in Hayden is offering free tax help to anyone in the Tri-Community and Copper Basin areas, by appointment only. This is a new service being offered and the only restrictions are no military or business owners. Please call 520-356-7035 for an appointment with Annie Hinojos or Paula Romero.

LET’S HELP SOME SOLDIERS We will have a donation box in Winkelman Town Hall to create care packages for soldiers until the end of Feb. Acceptable donations for men or women soldiers are gum, hard candy, tootsie rolls, Oreos, jerky, Doritos, Cheetos, bean dip, stick deodorant, body wash, paperback books and magazines, toothpaste and toothbrushes, razors. No pork products, baked goods, potato chips or other easily perishable items may be sent.

LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE The membership drive is still ongoing at the Kearny Library. Checks can be mailed to the Friends of the Library, P.O. Box 220, Kearny, AZ 85137.

WASTE DISPOSAL VOUCHER PROGRAM Residents can obtain a voucher for the Waste Disposal Voucher Program at the Board of Supervisors office for the disposal of debris from your primary residence at the Oracle Transfer Station or the Dudleyville Landfill. You must bring a current utility bill with name and service address imprinted as proof of residency. For more information call 520-866-7830. MEDICAL SUPPLY LOANING CLOSET A loaning closet for medical supplies, free of charge to area residents, has been established at Constitution Hall / the Senior Citizen Building in Kearny, located just beyond the swimming pool. Wheel chairs, walkers, crutches and other supplies have been gathered through efforts of the Seniors and the Copper Area Health Volunteers. 4-H DONATIONS HELP YOUTH Pinal County 4-H is seeking donations to continue this worthy program for local youth. Your support helps us provide skills that encourage youth to take responsibility, make good decisions, work well with others, create leadership opportunities and improve their communication skills. KEARNY ELKS LODGE MEETINGS Kearny Elks Lodge #2478 meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m. The lounge has a new schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5 – 8 p.m.

COPPER BASIN FOOD BANK The Copper Basin Food Bank will distribute food on Feb. 21, starting with numbers being handed out at 11:30 am. Starting in Mar., food distribution will be on the second Thurs. of every month, at which point a donation will also be required. Times may change in Mar., so check the Copper Basin News and fliers around town. Florence Food Bank is no longer associated with the United Food Bank, but with the Christian Food Coop.
