The Hand of God

Previously, I wrote on the importance of immersing oneself into the Scriptures.  One reason for this is the comment of a seminary professor.  He was troubled by the incoming students who exhibited an extreme lack of Biblical knowledge.  Most of these people had grown up in the church.

As a believer, we must be well grounded in God’s Holy Word.  This is a basic fundamental and foundational requirement of Christianity.  We study and memorize God’s Word in order to hide it in our hearts, so that we will not sin against Him.

Once we are standing firm on the Bible; God, by His Holy Spirit, matures and grows us up spiritually.  We now become a letter from Christ, written not with ink, but with the Holy Spirit on our human heart.  2 Corinthians 3:3.

In Hebrews 8:10 the Lord says:  “I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.”  As a mature believer, we will carry the Word of God in our hearts.  We may not be able to immediately quote it from Genesis to Revelations; but when we need it in a crisis, God will help us remember the verse that applies to our situation, right now!

Wherever we go, God’s Word lives inside of us and speaks to every event, attitude or circumstance.  Believe the Word of God.  Do what the Holy Spirit tells you to focus on and do.  Walk continually in His abiding love.
