Sylvia Faye Taylor

, 89, passed on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz. Sylvia was born to her father, Henry, and mother, Nora Stephens, in Denton, Texas. Sylvia was a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader, wife of a Boy Scout leader. She was a wonderful mother, always putting her children first. She loved to garden, go for rides in the car, and watch court TV. Sylvia was always working, helping out dad in his many projects. Sylvia will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Sylvia is survived by sons, James Lee Taylor, Wilbur James Taylor “Bill” (Mary), Robert Allen Taylor, and son-in-law, Ken Johnston; daughter, Nancy Ann Taylor; grandchildren, Kevin, Cecilia, Jeremy, Christy, Marc, Will, Robert Lee, and many great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by husband, Wilbur James Taylor, Sr., daughter, Donna Johnston, and granddaughter, Leighann Taylor.

A graveside service was held on Dec. 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Mammoth Valley View Cemetary. The family was assisted by Griffith Mortuary.
