Sycamore Canyon Academy’s Culinary Class baked all kinds of patriotically decorated goodies and offered them free to the residents of Oracle as a way to celebrate the country’s birthday. John Hernandez | Copper Area News

Residents and staff of the Sycamore Canyon Academy gave out baked goods at the Oracle Fire House. The baked goods included pies, cheese cake, cup cakes, and a Happy 4th of July decorated cake.
The baking was done by the Academy’s Culinary Class which is taught by Candice Ramirez and Briana Carby. The class started in April and is one of a number of classes taught at the Academy. Some of the other programs are Auto Shop; Computer Skills Class; Job Search/ Vocations; Woodworking and Maintenance which teaches plumbing and electrical skills.
The Culinary Class gave away the baked goods to celebrate the 4th of July and to get feedback from the people who tried the food.
John Hernandez lives in Oracle. He is retired and enjoys writing and traveling. He is active in the Oracle Historical Society. He covers numerous public events, researches historical features and writes business/artist profiles.
